Spiritual Life

Joshua Stines Director of Spiritual Life - Directory

My ministry journey has taken me many places - from serving in a coffee shop ministry in Poland to working with refugee families in Washington State, and later serving as a chaplain at a Christian School. No matter the setting, my greatest joy has been walking alongside students and families as they grow in Christ.

In 2019 I earned a Master of Divinity with an emphasis in Spiritual Formation from Northwest Nazarene University. In 2024 God brought my family to Central Florida and to the Master's Academy. Each day, I'm grateful for the opportunity to point students to Jesus, encourage them in their faith, and partner with families as together we raise up the next generation of Christ-Followers.

Why Spiritual Growth Matters

We believe true growth begins with the heart. When students encounter God’s truth and are transformed by it, they gain wisdom, discernment, and purpose to live as Christ’s disciples in today’s world.

Rooted in God’s Word

The Bible is our blueprint - the ultimate source of truth and wisdom for all of life. At TMA, students don’t just learn about Scripture; they learn to love it, live it, and let it guide their decisions and relationships. As they study God’s Word, they discover His character, His promises, and His purpose for their lives. This biblical foundation shapes how we teach, lead, serve, and grow together as a community. Every lesson, conversation, and experience is grounded in the truth of Scripture, helping students build a faith that stands firm in every season.

Opportunities for Transformation

Spiritual life isn’t a single program - it’s woven throughout our community:

  • Chapel services that center us on worship and God’s Word

  • Bible classes that build a strong biblical worldview

  • Retreats, mission trips, and service projects like Change for Children

  • Student leadership and worship opportunities through Catalyst and our Praise Band

A Lifetime of Faith

Our goal is not just to prepare students for college and career, but to anchor them deeply in Christ. We desire for every student to know what it means to follow Jesus with conviction, compassion, and purpose. Through worship, service opportunities, discipleship, and authentic community, students are learning to live out their faith in real and meaningful ways. These experiences shape their character, strengthen their trust in God, and prepare them for a lifetime of walking faithfully with Him - wherever He leads - and impacting the world for His glory.
