Learning Support Services

The following documentation is required in order for students to receive learning support beyond the normal scope of a TMA classroom: 

An educational evaluation completed by a licensed psychologist. 

• This evaluation must be completed within the past three years. 
• Must be kept up-to-date for the duration that the student remains at TMA. 

A medical evaluation completed by a licensed physician. 

Both the educational and medical evaluations must contain clear statements of the following: 

• Specified disability and/or learning area(s) impacted. 

• Specific learning accommodations are recommended. 

The Learning Center is a pull-out program available to referred K5 - 5th grade students.

• Phonics - sound/symbol relationship

• Math - number sense

• Reading comprehension
• Writing original sentences to compose a paragraph
• Math

• Organizational and study skills
• Vocabulary development
• Reading comprehension
• Mechanics of writing and written expression in varied paragraphs and genre
• Test preparation and test taking skills
• Math

The Gifted Learning Program is a weekly pull-out initiative for gifted students. 

This program is for students of exceptional intelligence and is designed to be a creative, hands-on, project-based learning environment challenging the higher-level thinker.  Students are recommended for the program by our teachers using criteria based on testing data, official IQ measurements, and teacher recommendations.

Our program aligns with the Florida Framework for Gifted Learners, which means we will consistently plan with the following key components in mind:

• The chance to consistently pursue topics of study in greater depth or to a greater level of cognitive challenge   
• The inspiration to tackle a wider range of authentic and complex academic tasks that require doing real-world work 
• Intentional integration of activities that move at a faster pace
• The opportunity to develop a sense of self and comprehend the possibilities that the world has to offer

Our units of study for the Gifted Learning Program will be biblically integrated to align with the foundations of all TMA classrooms.

Our goal is to provide a creative and unique learning opportunity for students outside the scope of their normal classroom activities. 

• Small group instruction
• Hands on, project-based learning
• One-to-one student iPad use
• Students will attend 'specials' with their class
• Half-day program for 1st - 2nd grade
• Full-day program for 3rd - 5th grade

• 1st - 2nd Grade:  $500

• 3rd - 5th Grade:  $1,000
