Seniors, get going on your college applications by following these steps.
You must pre-register for each on-site college visit. Sign-Ups are available in your Bible teacher’s classroom. All seniors may sign up for five college visits (not including University of Central Florida). All juniors may visit three college reps who are visiting our campus. Please sign up quickly to avoid missing out on your top college choices.
Note that you are responsible for all missed work due to missing a class. Please check the website for updates and additions. Contact the Guidance office at 407-971-2221 with any questions. |
You may now submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)! Details and the electronic version of the form are at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.
The following web site has a wealth of information about financial aid for college: http://www.finaid.org. This site is maintained by www.fastweb.com and is a part of www.monster.com, the giant in job searches. Finaid.org has a link for the FAFSA, which is an excellent and simple review of the form, how to complete it, and its purpose. Also provided on this site are some excellent resources for financial aid and tips on how the resources can be best accessed.
Why Should You Submit the FAFSA?
Both state and federal governments use the eligibility criteria established by your FAFSA to qualify you for several types of financial aid and grants. You must complete and submit the FAFSA in order to establish your eligibility for these programs.
Should You Submit the FAFSA If You Are Not Interested in Loans?
Yes, if you are interested in grants and other financial aid programs offered by federal and state governments, as well as by colleges.
Visit your Guidance office for more information.
The 2007-08 Student Florida Financial Aid Application is now available at www.FloridaStudentFinancialAid.org. This site provides the electronic form and explains the benefits of submitting it. It also provides helpful information about scholarships, grants, and applications for state benefits. |
With this form, you can keep track of what you’re taking and what you need to take for the remainder of your high school years.
This form lists the minimum requirements for graduation. The number of credits for each requirement is listed and there’s a space for you to check off the courses completed. The number of credits shown is the minimum you must complete to graduate. For example, 1½ credits are required for both PE and Fine Arts.
You may complete more than 1½ credits, but you may not complete fewer than this. Debate is counted as Speech and two seasons of a varsity sport are counted as one PE credit. The two additional science requirements must be science courses with a lab (like Chemistry or Physics). Two foreign language credits must be earned in the same language and must be taken in consecutive years. |
